JACOB LESSEM HIRED AS NEW ROYALS GENERAL MANAGER

The Kansas City Royals have hired Jacob Lessem as the team’s new General Manager as former General Manager Rhett Parker has left the team to join the New York Yankees.

Lessem comes to the Royals with the goal of continuing to build upon what was the franchise’s most successful season in 2018.

Lessem will help build upon a roster that includes the 2018 American League Most Valuable Player in Gary Sanchez. In addition to Sanchez, the likes of Jack MacNeil, Jason Heyward, and John Ballard are the in position to help the Royals have one of the more productive offenses in the league next season.

Royal’s owner David Glass on the hiring:

“As a team, we have improved our record in each of the past three seasons. We have suffered through some tough times, but we now have the framework for a very successful future. I believe Lessem will further help us get where we want to go. I’m 83-years-old now and my team with this time might be on its last legs. I want to go out on top and I really think we can get there with Lessem leading our front-office.”
