Sunday, October 22nd, 2017

The joy and relief on the faces of the Minnesota Twins players was obvious as they celebrated their League Championship Series win over the Seattle Mariners.

“In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out. We’re pretty happy we did what it takes to get it done,” said Michael Perez of Minnesota, shortly after their 7-4 win that clinched the series 4-3.

The team is now off to the World Series. Perez won series MVP honors, on the strength of his .444 batting average during the series. He also added a .500 on-base percentage, 0 home runs, drove in 0 RBI and scored 7 runs.

The Minnesota Twins don’t know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Atlanta Braves – Cincinnati Reds series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
