Rockies Hire New GM
Bucholz Hired to Shake Things Up as New General Manager of Colorado Rockies
Denver, CO. — Days after the Rockies saw their General Manager flee to the Blue Jays, Eddie Bucholz has accepted the challenge of guiding the Rockies past recent problems and toward what could be a very bright future.
Rockies owner Charlie Monfort appeared both excited and relieved during a Monday afternoon news conference at Coors Field. As he introduced Bucholz as the team’s new general manager, he also seemed to distance himself from the frustration of the days prior.
“I can’t say enough about what I feel about where I feel the organization is going,” Bucholz said. “I view this as one of the premier jobs in all of sports. There’s no question that we certainly expect big things moving forward.”
“The past week has been one of the toughest in the history of the Colorado Rockies franchise,” Monfort said.
Bucholz will quickly jump into figuring out who the Rockies will select with their first round pick in the draft.
