YANKEES ANNOUNCE SIGNING OF RHETT PARKER AS NEW GENERAL MANAGER

The New York Yankees are pleased to welcome 2018 MLB Pro General Manager of the Year Rhett Parker to the Yankees organization.

In 2018, Parker helped construct the Royals to the tune of 92 wins. Rhett had been apart of the Royals organization for seven seasons, originally joining the Royals prior to the 2012 season.

The Yankees went through two General Managers last season. Unhappy with the results on the field, owner Hank Steinbrenner was looking to bring in a bright mind to help push the Yankees back into the winning mindset they were accustomed to under previous General Manager Brad Wilgus.

Upon the announcement of his hiring, Parker said, “the Yankees are an organization that gets the attention of sports fans world-wide. I look forward to the challenge and the spotlight that comes with trying to get this team back to the winning tradition it is accustomed to.”
