AL Presents Player of the Week Trophy

At the age of 27, Keon Barnum might have some potential he hasn’t realized yet — if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Cleveland first baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .474 batting average. For his efforts Barnum collected the American League Player of the Week Award.

He racked up 9 hits in 19 at-bats, 5 home runs and 12 RBIs last week in 5 games.

To date this season Barnum is hitting .353 with 6 home runs.

Kamida Selected Top Performer in NL

Not every ball that came off Ryobe Kamida‘s bat last week was a line drive or a towering shot — it just seemed that way to the teams that played the Philadelphia Phillies. For his exploits, Kamida was named this week’s National League Player of the Week award.

The Philadelphia first baseman put up 8 hits in 24 at-bats and 5 home runs while hitting .333 with 13 RBIs and 5 runs scored.

This year Kamida is hitting .338 with 6 home runs and 20 RBIs in 16 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .408 with 8 walks and 14 runs scored.
