via MLB Pro League Office

The 2021 MLB Draft will begin next week on the morning of Wednesday, May 5.

As always, please ensure that you are able to sign in to Stats+ here and that you are able to access the draft list and order.

A reminder that Stats+ will create draft notifications in Slack at the #draftupdates channel, please make sure you are a member of this channel, if you are not, PM me in Slack and I will add you.

Like the the real-life draft date, ours too has been moved to July. With more time to draft, we will extend the longer hours for an extra round or two early on before seeing how things are going. Here is what will be entered as we head into the draft, these are subject to change if need be.

RoundsDraft Time 2021 MLB Pro Draft
1-512 Hours (8 AM PST to 6 PM PST)
6-810 Hours (6 AM PST to 7 PM PST)
9-126 Hours (6 AM PST to 8 PM PST)
13+3 Hours (6 AM PST to 8 PM PST)
The above times are again the plan going in, all are subject to change via Slack announcement.
Last year, we gave 12 hours for rounds 1-3, followed by 6 hours for rounds 4-6.

Within Stats+, the Pool/My List page allows for a team to use either/both of “List Pick” or “Auto Pick.”

-If list/auto are not selected, a team will have the full timer to make their selection.
-If ONLY list is selected and no players are on the list, the team has the entire timer allowed.
-If ONLY list is selected and players are on list, when the team comes up, the list is used immediately.
-If list AND auto are selected the pick is made immediately, first using the list, and then using BPA.

If there are any questions about Stats+ or the draft, please reach out to me via PM.

DRAFT FAQ AND REMINDERS

  1. Following the amateur draft, recently selected players cannot be traded until the first off-season following the draft.
    • This was an off-season rule change.
  2. Why were picks added to the end of rounds 2 and 3?
    • These are the competitive balance picks that have been added over the past few seasons.
  3. Set Auto after Auto-Pick has been TURNED ON. You will have to turn it off manually if you miss a pick.
