Rays Recap!
Tampa Bay: The offense just couldn’t get enough going against Gerrit Cole in a 3-2 loss. Jarred Kelenic doubled and scored and Juan Francisco had an RBI single and that was about it. Hunter Johnson struck out 8 in 5 innings but was saddled with the loss.
- Ryan Ward homered, driving in 3 in a 5-1 Bulls win. Jacob Thomas got the win to move to 8-3.
- Montgomery dropped both halves in a doubleheader, each by a run. C Nick Kahle had 4 hits across the two games.
- Charlotte won 7-1 behind 5 hits from Jordan Brewer to boost his average to .292. Austin Shenton added his 11th HR.
- SS Brett Sullivan hit a 3-run HR for the only offense in a 3-2 Hot Rods win.
- Hudson Valley blasted Lowell 11-3 with 4 homers, including 2 from Felipe Zamora (10). Les Koch (6) and Bradley Archer (14) also homered
- Port Charlotte didn’t have it in a 5-1 loss, Brady Dutcher was the tough luck loser despite allowing just 1 run in 5.1 innings
- Princeton exploded for 9 runs – meaning they scored 78 runs in 29 August games and 21 of them game in just 2 games. Lucas Miller hit his 4th homer and Ryan Cusick threw 7 shutout innings, striking out 8
