Pirates Win Tight National League Central Race

It’s official! The Pittsburgh Pirates have secured the top spot in the National League Central. Pittsburgh‘s manager Joel Skinner was quick to give credit to his players.
“They believed in this team all year, and never gave up.”
It won’t be an easy road for Pittsburgh as they try to compete for their 1st World Series victory. They have to hope that their success will translate to the post-season, which is certainly not always the case. This was the 1st division title for the team.
While the Pirates lost on Sunday, the division was clinched after Rich Dixon hit a walk-off homer at Dodger Stadium to give the Dodgers a win over the Brewers.
