December 1, 2022
With tonight’s sim complete, we have reached the point where 40-man rosters are now locked*.
The 2022 Rule 5 Draft will take place one week from tonight, on December 8th [tentatively scheduling for 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET (Ayden time: not sure.)
I have given all players on DFA 12 days to push their time past the Rule 5 draft. If you have a player who clears waivers or who has cleared waivers, leave them in DFA until after the draft. If you claim a player (CC: Rhett), please add them to the 40-man roster ASAP. Players who sign as FA’s between now and the draft will be added by me to your 40-man roster once the signing takes place.
If anyone waives a new player beginning on Friday, if they go unclaimed, they REMAIN Rule 5 eligible AND will not come with the full-season roster requirements for the new team.
The Rule 5 Draft Pool
- To view in-game: MLB dropdown -> Transactions -> Players Tab -> MLB Player List -> Checkmark “Include Minor Leaguers” -> Filter: Misc Info, Rule 5 is eligible AND Age is at least 22.
- I think I have it working where the pool can also be viewed properly in Stats+ in the Draft Pool. You can use Stats+ draft lists for your own use, but they will not be used on draft day. If you want to submit a list for the draft, please PM it to me before the draft.
The table below is where 40-man rosters stand heading into the draft. Subject to change with FA additions and waiver claims. But a reminder that your available number of picks come draft day cannot grow. [Example: The Chicago Cubs at 40 cannot create any Rule 5 draft room between now and then. ]
