Ticket Prices & Finances (Rule Change)

INTERNAL REPORT –

In advance of the off-season, the MLB Pro Task Force on Finances and Fan Acquisition has informed the Commissioner’s Office that projections suggest the league should expect a 4.135% increase in ticket prize baseline for the 2025 season. Studies and focus groups indicate that fans are largely not bothered by the increase and initial analysis projections indicate a 2.495% growth in expected attendance for the upcoming season.

With these projections, the Commissioner’s Office is laying the ticket prize window for 2025 at a minimum of $15.50 and a maximum of $41.50.

Simplified version of the above, after the WS ends, I will be updating:

  • The in-game attendance baseline per game number to 30,185
  • The ticket price baseline to $31.50
  • The minimum ticket price you can set will be increased to $15.50
  • The maximum ticket price you can set will be increased to $41.50

The changes DO NOT guarantee increases in attendance or revenue. Market size, loyalty, interest, on-field play will all still matter. For example, from the end of 2023 to the start of 2024 we saw an increase from $29.70 to $30.25 and from 28,295 to 29,450.
