Message From The League Office

Congrats to Cincinnati and Philadelphia for clinching their spots in the NLCS, as well as to Houston for their ALCS appearance. Best of luck to both Boston and Tampa in Thursday’s decisive Game 5. With the ALCS & NLCS getting underway I wanted to give a brief overview on a handful of things:

  • Roll Call
    • I want to thank everyone for their timely responses. I heard from every GM in a timely manner. We are currently at 29 returnees, with 1 decision still to be made. I expect to know the final outcome sometime in the next week or so.
      • Exporting/Activity: I know this was a topic I addressed with some in the Roll Call PM but I want to make it known here as well. If you were warned about your exporting levels, please try and follow through with what was requested next season. If activity is not present (exporting, seen in Slack, voting for awards) to start the off-season when attention is required, I will not hesitate to remove you from the league.
        • I also want to make it clear that not all exporting is the same. If you are present in Slack, quick to respond to PM’s [both mine and others], if you are active for the draft, for league votes, you get more leeway, simple as that. In addition, there are always personal events/private matters that I am aware of that maybe others in the league are not – so what you see on the export tracker over a week/month/season, know that not all export percentages are truly the same when viewed through my eyes.
    • Rule Suggestions
      1. Request for IFA Money to be tradable
        • This is under consideration, it will NOT be a thing at the start of the off-season, but could be added at some point this winter. It remains TBD at the moment.
      2. Contracts:
        • One thing to watch as we prepare for free-agency, if a contract structure looks a bit different/odd, please ask the league office if it is acceptable. Flexibility remains, but let’s just try and avoid the extremes when it comes to structure of deals.
  • Off-Season Schedule
    • I do not want to alarm anyone with this, all is good, I promise! That being said, at the conclusion of the World Series, there will likely be a day or two without a sim prior to jumping into the off-season. A simple combo of needing a short/break reset paired with the timing likely coming right at the start of the college basketball season. This is still a TBD thing that I’ll keep everyone updated on when we get there, just don’t be alarmed if we go this route.
    • The schedule pertaining to award voting deadlines, arbitration, trade freeze, coach hiring freeze, free-agency will be announced following the end of the World Series.
      • Coach hiring will undergo a new system this off-season. Stay tuned for more on that in the coming weeks.
  • Award Voting
    • I’ll be opening this up in Stats+ after the ALDS concludes on either Thursday night or Friday morning. This will give everyone ample time through the LCS, WS, and early part of the off-season to vote. I expect everyone to do so. This again goes back to exporting/activity.
  • 2025 Park Factors
    • Everyone should have received a PM from me about your park factors for 2025. If you have not spoken to me about them yet, please give them thought and let me know your thoughts so we can finalize those.
  • Ticket Prices
  • IFA
    • Any players that remain unsigned at the end of the WS will be removed from the IFA pool and will not sign with MLB teams this season. ]
