League Championship Series Goes the Distance, Los Angeles Prevails

With a narrow 4-3 series win, the Los Angeles Angels have eliminated the Toronto Blue Jays and are the 2020 American League Championship Series winners.

“We tried not to look ahead to the World Series, but we thought we’d be there for sure,” said right fielder Nomar Mazara, who was named series MVP.

Los Angeles won the final game by a score of 6-3, wrapping it up at Rogers Centre. The game turned in the 7th inning when Nomar Mazara hit a grand-slam to give the Angels a 5-2 lead.

Mazara‘s big series saw him hit .346 with a .433 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Los Angeles Angels will play against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the next round. Arizona won their series against the Colorado Rockies 4 games to 0. The World Series begins on Monday.
