Joint Announcement: MLB Pro Free Agency Status Granted

The following is a joint statement from the MLB Pro League Office, the MLB Pro Players Association, the Nippon Baseball League, and the Dominican Republic Baseball Federation

At the request of the MLB Pro Players Association, the Nippon Baseball League, and the Dominican Republic Baseball Federation, the MLB Pro League Office has admitted the following players to the league with immediate free-agency status:

-From Japan-

  • 27 year-old pitcher Kodai Senga from the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks
  • 27 year-old infielder Kensuke Kondoh from the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters
  • 26 year-old outfielder Seiya Suzuki from the Hiroshima Carp
  • 27 year-old outfielder Masataka Yoshida from the Orix Buffaloes
  • 24 year-old pitcher Livan Moinelo from the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks

From the Dominican Republic

  • 25 year-old pitcher Sandy Alcantara

-From Cuba, via the Dominican Republic-

  • 24 year-old pitcher Michel Baez
  • 29 year-old infielder Yandy Diaz*
  • 30 year-old pitcher Raisel iglesias*
  • 25 year-old infielder Yoan Moncada*

*: As part of the agreement between the Dominican Republic Baseball Federation and the Cuban government, the three Cuban defectors who are already at least 25 years of age have been granted three-years of service time. The MLB Pro Players Association has agreed to these terms for these three players.
